CBP Cross-Training Spotlight: Lauren Ohman
Our third year fellow, Lauren Ohman, just completed her crossover training at UC San Diego working in the lab of Dr. Eric Ahrens to further her education in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques. She spent a quarter learning sequence selection and acquisition for MRI, as well as obtaining preliminary results on a new 19F MRI contrast agent utilizing antibodies for specific targeting in vitro. Lauren was also lucky enough to be selected by the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine Molecular and Cellular Imaging Study Group to present a tutorial on how her perfluorocarbon nanoemulsions are synthesized and utilized for 19F MRI. We want to thank Dr. Ahrens, his lab staff, and Dr. Stephen Adams for their generosity hosting Lauren and aiding in her training!
